BOOK TRAVELING THURSDAYS

I have recently come across a Goodreads Group called Book Traveling Thursdays. The concept of this is that every Thursday there is a theme and the bloggers who participate in this group take that theme and pick a book that they associate with the theme. From this the bloggers find and post different covers of the book they have chosen.

If you wish to know more or join in please feel free to have a look at their Goodreads Page.

The theme for this week was:

A CONTROVERSIAL BOOK

Upon doing some research I have decided to choose:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

ORIGINAL COVER:

This is the original U.S. cover that I found that was released in 1999.

COVER IN MY COUNTRY (AUSTRALIA):

This is the Australian cover of this book. I actually think it is interesting. The ripped off journal page with the photo booth pictures is different.

FAVOURITE COVERS:

The first cover is the Croatian cover. I like the writing pad look about it with the screwed up pieces of paper on the sides.

The second cover is the Dutch cover. I seem to really like the notepad look when it comes to covers of this book.

The third cover is the Finnish cover. This is different to the others but the grungy room with just the pair of sneakers really works.

The final cover is the Australian cover. I have already stated that I liked this cover and the journal look.

LEAST FAVOURITE COVERS:

The first cover is the Estonian cover. I think the man pictured on this cover is too old to be the main character.

The second cover is the Persian cover. I don’t quite know what I don’t like about this cover but it just doesn’t gel with me.

The final cover is the Lithuanian cover. This does not represent a high school book to me.

As always I am happy to talk to anyone about this weeks theme and the chosen covers. I will be back next Thursday for another Book Travelling Thursdays Post.

Keep Calm and Read On,

Kati
