BOOK TRAVELING THURSDAYS

book-traveling-thursday2

I have recently come across a Goodreads Group called Book Traveling Thursdays. The concept of this is that every Thursday there is a theme and the bloggers who participate in this group take that theme and pick a book that they associate with the theme. From this the bloggers find and post different covers of the book they have chosen.

If you wish to know more or join in please feel free to have a look at their Goodreads Page.

The theme for this week was:

A BOOK WITH A POC MAIN CHARACTER

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

ORIGINAL COVER:

everything

This is the original U.S. cover that I found.

COVER IN MY COUNTRY (AUSTRALIA):

everything

I found that the original cover is the same cover in my country.

FAVOURITE COVERS:

*The first cover is the Serbian cover. I love the simplicity of this cover. The hyacinth also plays a role in the book.

*The second cover is the Spanish cover. This is another simply done cover which seems to work with this book. The two speech bubbles are plausible with the plot of the book.

*The third cover is the U.S. / U.K. cover. The original cover is absolutely my favourite. I love how at first glance it looks simple but really, it is not, there is so much detail.

LEAST FAVOURITE COVERS:

*The first cover is the Bulgarian cover. The main issue I have with this cover is the fact that the female main character is a POC, not a pale skinned girl with blond hair.

*The second cover is the Czech cover. The Czech cover looks too busy and almost tie-died. I am just not a fan.

*The third cover is the Dutch cover. This cover is simple but I don’t think the simplicity works in this case.

As always I am happy to talk to anyone about this weeks theme and the chosen covers. I will be back next Thursday for another Book Travelling Thursdays Post.

Keep Calm and Read On,

Kati
