REVIEW:

A different take on one of the classic monster movies – this movie truly has big paws to fill.

Primarily based in 1973 during the Vietnam war, the movie has a group of scientists and military travelling to Skull Island to search for the unbelievable. Now the group must survive the creatures of the island and meet up with the rescue team on the other side of the island.

The classic movie had Kong fighting a T-Rex. In this remake Kong has something a bit different and unusual to fight. There are some absolutely incredible CGI effects with the animals on the island. Kong is not the only enlarged animal on this mysterious island. Is Kong really the monster they think he is?

There is still the female “damsel in distress” figure who has a lot more guts than distress. The silhouette of Kong with helicopters coming towards him is something truly stupendous. This is where science meets myth.
