REVIEW:

When I pick up a Colleen Hoover book I am devoted to the plot and characters and find myself completely unable to do anything else but read, read, read until I have devoured every word. This romance is fraught with angst and second chances and waiting for everything to eventually unravel itself and come to a satisfying conclusion.

This book is told in alternating first person perspectives of the two main characters, Auburn and Owen. One of the things I absolutely love about these characters is that they are more than just skin deep and there is so much more under the surface. Auburn is extremely young, just turning 21 and as the story develops the reader understands more auto her life and the complications that drives her every decision. At the same time Owen also has complications in his life completely different to those in Auburn’s. These two have an electric chemistry and if their backgrounds come to light it may be extremely difficult for them to ever stay together.

The concept of Owen’s art studio was one that was totally unique and it was completely heartwarming to find out how he began his art career. Owen takes anonymous written confessions thorough a slot in the door to his art studio. These confessions are inspirations for Owen’s art and this art is titled after the confession that inspired it. I loved this concept and the depth that was displayed though this. Through the book the different art pieces were displayed and this just added more to plot of the book and the depth of the characters and their emotions.

Colleen Hoover has done it again and I am utterly enamoured in this book and she has made it onto my list of top authors that are auto-buys for me. The depth and emotion in these gritty and realistic romance stories leave you utterly devoted to the story until the very end.
