I have recently come across a Goodreads Group called Book Traveling Thursdays. The concept of this is that every Thursday there is a theme and the bloggers who participate in this group take that theme and pick a book that they associate with the theme. From this the bloggers find and post different covers of the book they have chosen.
If you wish to know more or join in please feel free to have a look at their Goodreads Page.
The theme for this week was:
A FAVOURITE CONTEMPORARY READ
This is the original U.S. cover.
COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (AUSTRALIA):
The original cover is the one that is sold in my country.
*The first cover is the Dutch edition. This cover really pops for me. I love the red colour and the significance of the Oreo on the front cover.
*The second cover is the German edition. I like the subtlety of this cover. The element of the two boys together on the front cover links to the content of the story.
*The third cover is the Indonesian edition. This cover is adorable. It links to elements in the novel and gives me nostalgic memories of reading this book.
*The fourth cover is the original U.S. edition. This is the book I read and I love the cartoon boy with a speech bubble, the cover just works for me.
LEAST FAVOURITE COVERS:
*The first cover is the Swedish edition. This black and white edition of the cover doesn’t give me the same nostalgia as other covers and doesn’t have a link to the contents of the book.
*The second cover is the Thai edition. This almost looks more like a manga than a novel and I’m just not feeling it.
*The third cover is the Vietnamese edition. I like the LGBTQIA+ element of this cover, but other than this I am not a fan of this cover.
As always, I am happy to talk to anyone about this weeks theme and the chosen covers. I will be back next Thursday for another Book Travelling Thursdays Post.
Keep Calm and Read On,
