Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Mason Ashford is a fun and interesting character who is a friend of Rose’s. He is a great character.

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer

Leah Clearwater had it tough. She is the first and only female werewolf in the pack, not to mention the man she imprinted on as imprinted on someone else. And he’s the Alpha of the pack. While Leah is a minor character, the tragedy of her situation made me empathetic for her.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

Luna Lovegood is a quirky and interesting. She is an entertaining character and might be considered a side-character but in this book she does not really have a lot of page time.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Rue is a young Tribute who does not have a lot of time on the page. She does however, have a big impact on the motivations of Katniss.

The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

Carlin Glynn is a character who was at the very beginning of the book. She raised Kelsea from a young age. Her input and love of books is evident in Kelsey’s behaviour and informs the person Kelsea has grown into.
