Lost Girl follows the life of a bisexual Succubus named Bo, as she learns to control her supernatural abilities, help those in need, and discover the truth about her origins.
Friendship: The theme of friendship is prominent through the seasons of this show. Whether its Bo and Kenzi or anyone else in the gang, the message that there is virtually nothing you won’t do for your friends is one prevalent in this TV Show.
Light vs. Dark: Through the use of Light and Dark Fae there is an examination of the difference between benevolence and malevolence and whether the differences are more than just skin deep.
Sexuality: With Bo being a succubus there is definitely going to be many examinations of sexuality within this show. It was interesting to see a protagonist who is very free with her body and open to exploring her sexuality in every way.
Bo is the protagonist of the show. She has no idea what she is at the beginning. As she discovers the Fae world and the fact that she is a Succubus she must forge a new path in this new world.
When Kenzi is saved by Bo she becomes Bo’s best friend. Renzi is a human and her inner-strength and sarcasm help her survive in the dangerous world of the Fae.
Dyson is a Light Fae police officer who keeps an eye on Bo. Their relationship develops through the show and Dyson’s character is expanded upon.
Hale is Dyson’s partner in the police force. Through the show his character gains its own individuality and is not just connected with Dysons.
Lauren is a human doctor for the Light Fae. She is effectually enslaved to the leader of the Light Fae and her character and motivations are explored through the show.
Trick is the owner of the local Fae bar, the Dal Riata. He is more than meets the eye and a very prominent character in the show for his wisdom and strength.
It’s a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World
Bo has been living on the run for years, killing people when she kisses them. After leaving someone she kills out in the open, she is swept into the secret world of the Fae. She discovers who and what she is, and is told to choose a side, either the Light or the Dark. She refuses and chooses the side of humanity instead.
Fae Gone Wild
When an assembly of strippers help break an accused cop-killer out of the police station, Bo goes undercover at a strip joint in order to follow the trail of one of the girls. Dyson and Hale are simultaineously tracking the murderer, and both investigations end up coming together when a powerful fae artifact comes into play.
Adventures in Fae-bysitting
Bo and Kenzie go undercover in the Shady Grove to investigate a gated community when a babysitter asks for their help to determine what happened to her employer. Meanwhile, Lauren makes a difficult, and potentially dangerous, choice.
Of All The Gin Joints
Mysterious singer Ianka holds the key to Bo’s lost memories but she demands her freedom in return. Evony (The Morrigan) visits Lauren.
Clear Eyes, Fae Hearts
When a player from a college football team is murdered, Bo and Tamsin go undercover to find the culprit.
Bo and Dyson:
These two truly have a tumultuous relationship through the show. As a succubus Bo can never be monogamous. This is not the only challenge these two face and even though this relationship is on again, off again so often it is one I fully support.
Kenzi and Hale:
This relationship is one that took a while to develop but it is one I fully support. Until these two got together I would have never considered this ship. But it works so well.
