REVIEW: 

 

An urban fantasy superhero story with a light-hearted feel that just made me smile from beginning to end. This book takes its place in my list of favourite superhero / pop culture movies, TV Series, and books. It really was an easy and fun read.

The world building was really phenomenal and I particularly enjoyed reading about all the different supers. I loved the girl-power representation in this novel and the female empowerment. The main characters were fun and entertaining and kept me interested in the story, particularly Vada. Even the side characters were enjoyable. I noticed the lack of romance. I am a reader who enjoys her romance, but I feel that there may be some lead up.

Overall, Incredibles meets female empowerment. A superhero story everyone should get behind! This set up to a new superhero series was everything I could have wanted and more. Bring on book 2.

REVIEW: 

 

In this start to a new series jam packed with amazing fantasy elements such as witches, sorcerers, empathic powers and more. The book felt very easy to get through and very enjoyable. Both Corvin and Audrey were characters that I really appreciated and their development through the book was satisfying. I loved the animal elements in this novel. This book is so fast paced and interesting and I am very intrigued to see how this book will continue.

This is the Finnish cover of Outlander. I like the artwork. Other than the plaid it just doesn’t link me to the story.

Stunning artwork and an amazing plot makes for a fabulous epic space-opera of a series. The third volume in this high stakes race across the universe for a couple and their child is just as high stakes as ever. I loved this amazing graphic novel, loved it. The art in this graphic novel is simply astounding. It draws you in as much as the dialogue, moving the story along.

The YA Chronicles is a monthly bookish subscription box that focuses on Young Adult Fiction based out of Australia. I have been subscribed to The YA Chronicles since February 2016 and have loved every box they have sent out. Each month there is a theme, the theme for July is:

Travelling back to camp has never been more fun. The female friendship in this graphic novel is like no other I have ever read. I love the care and compassion and general awesomeness of these characters know no bounds.

I was very interested to see how the story developed from the first volume. There is some amazing scenes and interesting development that incorporates mythology into the plot. The girls are great as they incorporate teamwork and friendship and overcome evil. There is some hints of possible romance that I am very interested to see whether it develops.

Amazing artwork, wonderful characters and a fun and entertaining plot make for a fantastic make for an empowering and feminine graphic novel series I really enjoy.
