SYNOPSIS:

In Kiss Cam, teen author Kiara London asks, what’s a little harmless kissing between friends?

Juniper, Jasper, and Lenny have been friends forever and co-own a vlog channel called WereVloggingHere. Their fans are huge “shippers” who believe that Juniper and Jasper are perfect for each other, and, despite warnings from friends and family, a simple Truth-or-Dare inspired kiss soon spirals out of control into a whole new world of making out and surprise kisses.

Juniper and Jasper’s relationship begins to shift. But as fan requests for different “Kiss Cam” segments keep pouring in, Juniper puts her worries aside and convinces herself that it doesn’t mean anything. After all, it’s just kissing… right?

WRITING STYLE:

This book is told in first person from the perspective of Juniper who is the female portion of the Vlogging team We’reVloggingHere. This is a really quick read and is exactly what you would expect from the writing style of a a Rom Com contemporary.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:

The development of the characters in this book is exactly how I thought it would be. But that is OK, it is what I needed when reading it. Each of the three members of the vlogging team developed slowly through this novel leading up to the moment I was waiting.

THEMES:

Friendship: This book focuses on the friendship of the three main characters and how this friendship develops and changes when Kiss Cam comes into play.

Love: What happens when friendship leaks over into love? A lot of antics. Romantic love is not the only type of love explored here. Junipers love for her parents and her parents love for her is also a part of this book, even though not a large one.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:

This book is a cute, fun contemporary read that is really quick and gives you all the feels. As a fandom based community we are all aware of ships. This book takes a look behind the camera and I loved every cute minute of it.

This is a book for all the fans out there who want a cute little read. The plot is a little predictable but this book is all about the journey and what a journey it is. If you cannot tell from the title… this book has A LOT of kissing.

I would recommend this if you like flirty fun books, great for getting over any reading slump.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Kiara London is the internet savvy, hopelessly romantic alter ego of Bethany Novak-Tveten, who in real life is part of the US Air Force. She started writing on the online writing site Booksie when she was thirteen and then transferred to Wattpad where her debut novel Kiss Cam was originally posted. She spends most of her time scrolling down Tumblr, attempting to read everything she can get her hands on, and drooling over fictional men.
